I had the immense privilege of an almost front row seat at this event in Belfast just over a week ago. A glimpse of transatlantic liberty delivered impeccably by Daniel Hannan, now Lord Kingslere.
I sat there with a mental checklist of all the points I hoped he would make, and he knocked pretty much every one of them out of the park, with precision and skill. And no notes, and no Powerpoint!
Huge credit to all involved for putting together an event of such quality and international vision. The real narrative of 1688-89 is far bigger, and far more important, than we have all been led to believe.
(PS Hannan is wrong about "Scots-Irish" though. Another theme for another day)
