I've been a fan of Jeff's music since discovering his band Uncle Tupelo many years ago - they've recorded some great Appalachian and old-timey classics in among their own material. The Mermaid Avenue albums with Billy Bragg (of unrecorded Woody Guthrie songs) are excellent too.Mark Thompsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12820251983224121718noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13344062.post-26437809479232044912011-01-10T22:40:31.844+00:002011-01-10T22:40:31.844+00:00Mark, very nice post. They are an interesting old Scots-Irish family. My grandmother had the Second Sight BTW, very bizarre phenomenon. The Tweedys were and are very musical, they made fiddles in the later 1800s through mid 1900s. They are considered very fine instruments if you can find one and afford it. There is going to be a Tweedy reunion this Spring, in Mena Arkansas.Barry R McCainhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12061685131254246076noreply@blogger.com
