My name is Kurt...Hello, A message to Mark Thompson,<br />My name is Kurt Johnston and I stumbled upon this blog this evening when doing a search online for "Johnstons of Ballyfrench". The Johnston family that use to live in the old house at 18 Ballyfrench road was my grandfather's family. My grandfather, Sam Johnston was the first of the family to leave Ireland and ended up in Minneapolis Minnesota. The other boys you mentioned, Hugh and Jack ended up in Kansas City Kansas. A while back I had found the old farm house on Google maps, satellite images - It stood out due to the four chimneys (I have an old photo of the house with the address of 18 Ballyfrench road). When I went to street view I saw a sign on the driveway going into the yard with a phone number (never got around to calling to find out more about the current state of the property). Please send me a note via email. One of these days I'd like to visit the area.
